Keith Hawkins - Head of ASIC COT - Ericsson
Biography :
Keith is an experienced leader in the area of silicon development and productization having held senior management roles in leading Semiconductor and Systems Level companies. Currently he is head of COT (Customer Owned Tooling) for Ericsson in Austin. In addition to his role in COT he is also the Austin site head. Prior to this he was SVP for the Austin R&D Center and Advanced Computing Lab in San Jose CA for Samsung where his teams were focused on developing ARM CPU, Samsungs own GPU and System level IP for Samsungs Galaxy-S and Note phone products. He had a long affiliation with AMD as Corporate VP for AMD focusing on X86 CPU, embedded, communications and chip-set products during his time there. He was also associated with Sun Micro Systems and DSC communications in leadership roles. He has built multiple organizations and led large teams around the world that focus on the entire design process in the areas of ARM and X86 CPUs, GPU and communications at both the IP and SOC level. Keith has an MBA from University of Dallas and BSEE from Texas A&M. The focus of COT will be to complement the current Digital ASIC Organization (DAF org) within Ericsson and complete the backend of the design process (physical design) including interfacing with the foundry and providing the engineering support required to deliver a released production ASIC. |
